Tri-State Area MSI & DOM comparison Luxury vs. All homes

Click on the reports below to see how the market is fairing in various sectors by viewing Monthly Supply of Inventory (MSI) and Days on Market (DOM).

A snapshot of the data tells us the following:

• All homes - MSI for Jan. 2008 is 9.5 months (vs 6.1 in Jan. 2007); DOM Jan 2008 is 83 days
• $500k and up homes - MSI for Jan 2008 is 19.5 months (vs 13.0 in Jan 2007); DOM is 99 days
• $750k and up homes - MSI for Jan 2008 is 23.9 months (vs 17.9 in Jan 2007); DOM is 119 days
• $1mm and up homes - MSI for Jan 2008 is 23.2 months (vs 19.9 in Jan 2007); DOM is 119 days

This tells us that the lower priced homes have been harder hit with percent change of MSI  - their sales slowed more than luxury homes.
